FASHION EAST has announced its autumn/winter 2015 designer line-up this morning, introducing two new names to the official London Fashion Week schedule. Caitlin Price and Mary Benson will join a returning Ed Marler for the seasonal showcase, which this time round will change in format from a collective show, to two individual presentations and one catwalk outing.
“The team and our panel all feel strongly that young designers need to showcase their collections in the way that suits them best, so this season instead of the usual group runway show I’m excited that we’re accommodating our two brilliant newcomers with presentations that can really draw guests into their world,” explained Fashion East founder and director Lulu Kennedy. “We’ll also be showing Ed’s second collection in an intimate salon show – all under one roof at the incredible ICA, one of my favourite places in London.”
Price and Benson hail from the Central St Martins MA and the University of Westminster BA programmes respectively, while Marler already has one season under his belt as a part of Kennedy’s clan. They follow in the footsteps of alumni including Jonathan Saunders, Marques Almeida and Simone Rocha, who have all graduated on to solo shows and mainstream success.
