Take a look at the fashion folk you should add to your feed for the spring/summer 2015 international fashion week season
BY Bibby Sowray | 12 September 2014
Call us voyeurs but we love nothing more than a glimpse into the lives of our favourite fashion folk, and this is exactly what Instagram affords us. Here, we bring you our favourites to follow (in no particular order)…
Natasha Goldenberg, @ngoldenberg
Yet another super stylish member of the Russian fashion mafia, Natasha Goldenberg is a stylist and designer. Her wardrobe is dream-like, much like her idyllic-looking life which sees her flit between New York, Paris, London and Milan without batting an eyelid – even when she’s heavily pregnant. Follow her for lust-worthy snaps full of the most desirable designer duds, front-row view shots and general escapism.
Sam McKnight, @sammcknight1
Out of season, Sam McKnight, one of the world’s most renowned hair stylists, will be found tending to his glorious garden – from which he shares his beautiful green-fingered photography all year round. During fashion season, it’s his hair styling (at the leading shows, atop the heads of the world’s most famous models) that we lust after. McKnight always pushes the boundaries, but never veers far from the dream hair we’re always left wanting season on season.
Maria Dueñas Jacobs, @mduenasjacobs
Accessories director of US Elle, Maria Dueñas Jacobs is the only person you need to follow for the latest drool-worthy accessories. She’s got an eye for fine jewellery so expect diamonds galore, as well as an editor’s eye view of all the latest designer shoes and bags. Just be prepared to have a huge wishlist after perusing her feed!
Kendall Jenner, @kendalljenner
Bright young waifish thing Kendall Jenner not only feeds the guilty celebrity pleasure pool; her Instagram is a shiny, happy album of her model shenanigans so far. And boy, does it look fun…
Anna Dello Russo, @anna_dello_russo
Vogue Japan’s eccentric editor-at-large is the poster girl for the most outré new styles. During fashion week her Instagram account is a veritable catwalk to sidewalk feast, as she takes on the challenge of the latest unpredictable trends with sheer glee.
Hamish Bowles, @hamishbowles
US Vogue editor-at-large Hamish Bowles scatters our feed with a zany mix of art, architecture and snaps of himself posing in outlandishly coloured tailoring by the aforementioned culture spots.
Sam McKnight, @sammcknight1
The hair stylist extraordinaire is your backstage ticket to the hectic land of hair spray, bobby pins and all number of quirky catwalk inventions. Prepare for the unexpected.
Lauren Santo Domingo, @thelsd
If life was as glamorous as Lauren Santo Domingo’s… We’re not quite sure what the end of that sentence is, but you should use the co-founder of Moda Operandi’s Insta feed as your own luxury style injection whenever you get the urge.
Gigi Hadid, @gigihadid
Hadid is the embodiment of the beautiful American dream, and boy does her Instagram prove it. The new model ‘It’ girl might be a shameless selfie taker, but when you’re skin is that honey coloured and glowing, who can blame her?
Pat McGrath, @patmcgrathreal
Make-up maestro McGrath is in high demand over the international fashion weeks (Stella McCartney, Gucci, Versace, Dior and Victoria Beckham all call upon her services) so tune into the beauty auteur’s trend prescriptions for the coming season.
Carine Roitfeld, @carineroitfeld
The former Vogue Paris editor and fashion tastemaker’s Instagram is a carefully curated collage of street style portraits, fashion shoots and illustrations by Donald “Drawbertson” Robertson. Swoon.
Mert Alas, @mertalas
One half of photography duo Mert and Marcus, Mert Alas is on fashion inner circle. He holidays with Kate and Naomi, parties with the biggest designers and works for the world’s best fashion brands, meaning his Instagram is great for sneak previews of upcoming work.
Gucci Westman, @gucciwestman
The make-up artist you want to be BBF (backstage best friends) with. Married to Rag and Bone designer David and BFF with Jennifer Aniston, Westman just oozes cool – even when she’s not doing the fashion week circuits for Revlon, for whom she is global artistic director. Booked in for Marchesa for spring/summer 2015, we’re already logging on to her aesthetically pleasing feed for any teasers on the look – expect her signature dewy, perfect skin.
Lena Perminova, @lenaperminova
The Russian model and socialite lives a life most of us could only dream of. She dresses in couture, holidays regularly in Umbria and all while looking picture perfect. She’s one to follow for style inspiration and general luxe life ogling.
Martha Ward, @marthaward
The British stylist is a girl-about-town in London, meaning she’s at all the best parties and is always dressed to impress (hence why she’s a regular feature in our Instagram Style Tips of the Week). We love how she puts herself together so her Instagram page is like having your own personal stylist.
Giancarlo Giammetti, @privategg
The partner of Valentino Garavani, Giancarlo Giammetti uses his Instagram to share his most treasured pictures of famous friends past and present (Valentino seen here in a vintage snap with Claudia Schiffer and Liz Hurley), a nostalgic look at Valentino archive pieces, as well as give us an eye into his wonderful life with the designer – which seems to be one constant holiday. Dreamy.
Giovanna Battaglia, @bat_gio
Vogue Japan fashion editor and all-round street style magnet, Giovanna Battaglia is a real fashion insider (take this bathroom pic from the 2014 Met Ball as a prime example). From glorious holidays, to behind-the-scenes looks at her latest shoots, this lady puts the fun into fashion.
Zanna Roberts Rassi, @zannarassi
Zanna Roberts Rassi is one busy lady. Not only is she Marie Claire Senior Fashion Editor, E! News and TODAY show fashion correspondent, she’s also a new mother to twins. But she’s one of our favourites to follow for outfit inspo, and excels in accessories.
Katie Hughes, @katiejanehughes
A relative newcomer, nail-artist Hughes arrived on the fashion scene with a social media frenzy that a beauty brand loves – which is exactly why she was signed by nail company Butter London. As its ambassador Hughes flies around the world tending to model nails at the leading shows, but somehow still finds time to upload photos of her latest designs (nail art included) despite her busy backstage diary.
Who What Wear, @whowhatwear
One of our favourite websites is also owner of one of our favourite Instagram feeds. Beautiful images and a mine of style inspiration at our fingertips, literally. What more could you want?
Naomi Campbell, @iamnaomicampbell
Campbell’s Instagram page is every bit as glamorous as you would expect. Exotic holidays with famous friends, behind-the-scenes snaps from the parties we’d kill to be invited to and a healthy dose of selfies. If only Mossy’s account wasn’t private too!
Alexa Chung, @chungalexa
The style maven gives good Instagram. From shameless selfies (well, she does have a pretty face), to shots of friends, places, doodles, parties and clothes, just a cursory glance of her feed makes you feel cool by cyber association.
Man Repeller, @manrepeller
Leandra Medine started her blog, The Man Repeller, when she was just a college student. Fast forward three years and she’s just authored her debut book, has a clutch of collaborations under her Hermès belt and the whole of the fashion industry after her witty waxings on fashion. Follow her on Instagram for some serious style porn and Medine’s quirky look at the world through her phone’s lens.
Eva Chen, @evachen212
Chen is the newly-appointed editor of US magazine Lucky , and it’s easy to see why. Her Instagram page is full of fashion. From in-car shots of her daily shoe and bag choice to the latest from the international front row and press days, Chen is a prolific poster making her all the better to follow for a regular fashion hit.
Miranda Kerr, @mirandakerr
If we looked like Miranda Kerr, we’d be as Insta-happy too. The Aussie supermodel is her greatest ambassador posting a plethora of selfies and her most recent shoots on her profile. But it’s not just self-love you’ll find – Kerr has an eye for capturing dreamy scenery, flowers and always posts an inspirational message of two for her 2.4 million followers. For an insider look at the life of an international, jet-setting model, Kerr’s the one to follow.
The Coveteur, @thecoveteur
Founded in 2011 by childhood friends Erin Kleinberg and Stephanie Mark, The Coveter is the online destination for style voyeurs all over the world. The site peeks into the homes and closets of the world’s foremost tastemakers, style mavens and fashion personalities, and its Instagram feed offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production of the lustworthy shoots. Add to that plenty of posts direct from The Coveteur’s cooler-than-cool offices and its trendy founders and you’ve got a feed that’s a veritable feast for the eyes.

Known for her impeccable yet eclectic style and her fiery red hair, Tomasi Hill lives and works in the eye of New York’s buzzing fashion scene. This means her Instagram page is alive with all of the components that make up the life of one the Big Apple’s most stylish: fashionable friends, fierce outfits and lots of frolics.
Nick Knight, @showstudio_nick_knight
The Instagram of a renowned fashion photographer was never going to disappoint was it? Nick Knight, who is also the founder of online fashion platform SHOWstudio, has mastered the super-quick snap app to create what are surely some of the most breathtaking images, particularly of his beloved garden roses. But it’s not all flowers, Knight also offers a glimpse into his working life, from curating shows to shooting super stars from SHOWstudio.
Miroslava Duma, @miraduma
Petite Russian fashion editor Miroslava Duma (she’s just 5ft) has taken the street style scene by storm. As such, she’s not afraid to post full-length selfies, giving us daily wardrobe inspiration (and proving height is no reason not to try certain trends). She’s also incredibly well connected, so you’ll find video snippets and snap of the links of Natalia Vodianova and Christopher Bailey nestled between her envy-inducing snaps of social soirées, must-have item and exotic holidays.
Into The Gloss, @intothegloss
Our favourite beauty blog is just as good on Instagram. We’ve love nothing more than a rummage through the bathroom cabinets and make-up bags of the famous and fashionable, and that’s exactly what founder Emily Weiss gives us. Her Instagram is a simply a less-edited, more of-the-minute visual feed of what’s on her radar right now, be it food, vintage film stars, must-have products.
Derek Blasberg, @derekblasberg
Man-about-town Derek Blasberg is a journalist by trade but a partier and celeb-befriender by nature. He’s also very witty and makes us wish we had his skills at socialising. There’s a healthy mix of famous faces (Alexa, Rosie, Naomi, Georgia, Kate, Carine, Karl, Karlie need we go on?) interspersed with tasty fashion titbits. If it’s happening, it’ll be on Blasberg’s feed.
Cara Delevingne, @caradelevingne
Wherever Cara goes, her Instagram followers know about it. Over-exposed she may well be, but that certainly makes for some good pics. Whether it’s backstage, on stage, at home or on a shoot what could be better than seeing what the life of the world’s most in demand model really involves?
